A craft steeped in history, pottery was once a simple utilitarian vessel made of clay, and at its most basic, served as storage for foodstuffs, water and spirits. Most were rather drab at the outset, without the slips, glazes and fired finishes that have made them a collectible art form today.
We hail the pioneers of pottery who brilliantly ushered in the era of useful and beautiful with our selection of vases, urns, pitchers, canisters, trays and bowls. Bold colors encourage seasonal displays of pine cones, gourds, branches and flower pods, special family ornaments and handmade snowflakes. Each piece wears the patina of age and use as if passed down through generations of family. Some appear to have spent time in a museum as a symbol of antiquity. All deserve to have a place of honor where the perfect, earth-rich past meets the present. Give yourself or someone you know a hallmark of our Southern heritage… sturdy, natural, hand-crafted, timeless pottery, and start a tradition of your own. by: Iron Accents

Tailgating: A distinctly Southern tradition wherein thousands of like minded football fanatics gather in parking lots or stands of trees to eat, drink and politely discuss why THIS YEAR is going to be different. We understand the allegiances, rivalries, divided houses, war whoops and dress codes. We also think that hospitality wins the day, if not the game. Gussy up the team tent with a few of our battery operated lighted branches or florals, and improve the outdoor, casual dining experience with one of our tailored table covers. These beauties are machine washable with corner drop seams and stitched edges that provide finish all the way to the floor…or ground, in this case…and snugly fit card tables as well as the six and eight foot folding varieties. What to put on the table besides the chafing dish of Firecracker Wings and Tarragon Potato Salad? Signal a time out while you gather up the glass and iron beverage server – we’d suggest the triple spigot version as part of the game day ritual – which, when placed in its space, will provide day long DIY drink dispensing in dramatic fashion. Line up a dozen or so of the all-the-rage Redneck Wine Glasses – an epic tailgating tool – and stand back. By this point you’ll probably be drawing a crowd, and it’s no wonder. Now for the big play. Emerge from the bus with a jumbo drink tub in your arms and watch your guests, as well as the opposing team, go wide eyed with appreciation. While everyone else brought a plastic cooler, you are first and goal with a substantial copper basin on its own stand that will keep your grapes and hops chilled until the last car leaves the lot. Don’t be embarrassed by the flashbulbs popping, folks just want to emulate your tailgating skills.Score a victory for the home team! Tailgate as never before with Iron Accents go to gear that provide the cheer! Warm as a whisper, soft as a sigh, our “Talking Pillows” subtly impart inspirational and pithy thoughts wherever they are placed. Modeled after retro cotton flour sacks, the linen lounge- abouts offer up wisdom on the merit of good night kisses; let your Bunco or bridge best girls know that their friendship is invaluable; teach a child to be everything they might aspire to become. A little Lincoln for their thinkin’! Or, just remind yourself that marshmallows and happiness are synonymous! What? You didn’t know that?Sure, they’re just pillows to the untrained eye, but given a forum from which to speak, they are gentle prompts and moving life references. Fluff one up on the family room couch, the guest bedroom or directly across from your home office chair. The understated stripes and “talking points” are printed with an ink dye absorbed into the fabric, and because they have been hand crafted, small differences in shape, size, surface and finish should be expected. Another informational gem of note? The pillows are machine washable so they’ll easily soldier through happy tears, paw prints and occasional use as a foundation for a make believe fort. They are charming, versatile and encouraging. See the entire “Talking Pillow” line under Linens and Pillows on our website, and speak volumes without uttering a word.
